With over 14,000 different types of steel we cannot cover everything.

We have focused on leading steels manufactured in Japan and Europe which have been used with high quality, long tested, well known (sort of) knives that have left their consumers happy. 

The main regions that make high quality steel for knives are the regions that make cars - Japan and Germany and to a lesser degree USA and Sweden. 

Whilst the info we provide may not make choosing your steel easier, hopefully it makes you more informed.
